Size Guide

Below are our conversion charts for rings, bracelets and necklaces, and the measuring methods we would use ourselves.

01 · Rings

Ring sizes

Our ring sizes are given in millimetres of inner circumference: the European convention, and the most precise of the three systems. Size 54 means the inside of the band measures 54 mm around. UK and US equivalents below are the nearest match in each system; where they disagree, the millimetre figure is definitive.

Sizes 48–62 are stocked across the collection. Outside that range, or in a half size, we can make to order. Get in touch.

Measuring at home

If you have a ring that already fits

  1. Place the ring on a ruler and measure straight across the inside of the band, at its widest point. That is the inner diameter.
  2. Find that measurement in the chart. If it falls between two rows, take the larger.

If you do not

  1. Wrap a strip of paper or a length of string snugly around the base of the finger.
  2. Mark where it overlaps, then lay it flat against a ruler and measure to the mark in millimetres. That is your inner circumference: your size.
  3. Check it slides over the knuckle. If the knuckle is noticeably larger than the finger, measure both and choose a size between the two.

Getting the fit right

  • Measure at the end of the dayFingers are largest in the evening and in warm weather. A ring sized on a cold morning can be tight by July.
  • Wide bands sit tighterA broad band feels snugger than a slim one of the same size. On the Signet and the Open Channel, consider going up a size.
  • The knuckle decides itThe ring has to clear the knuckle, then sit without spinning. If those want different sizes, choose the one that clears the knuckle.

02 · Bracelets & Bangles

Bracelet sizes

Bracelets and bangles are sized in centimetres: the length of the piece itself, not of your wrist. Choose the size that gives the ease you want over your own wrist measurement; the guidance below sets out how much that should be.

Chain bracelets (the Rivet Eternity Bracelet and the Tennis Bracelet) are meant to drape, so we allow 1–2 cm over the wrist. Bangles (Open Channel, Pavé, Baguette and Caviar) are rigid and sit closer to the arm, so we allow roughly 0.5–1 cm.

Our pearl bracelets are adjustable and need no size chosen: each is strung to 6 inches with a 2-inch solid gold extension chain, giving 6–8 inches (15–20 cm) on the wrist.

Measuring your wrist

  1. Wrap a tape measure, or a strip of paper, around the wrist just below the wrist bone: where the bracelet will actually sit.
  2. Draw it snug against the skin without compressing it, and note the measurement in centimetres.
  3. Read the size across from that measurement in the chart, choosing the chain or bangle column to match the piece.

Between two sizes?

Chain bracelets: take the larger. The extra length falls as drape and reads as intentional.

Bangles: take the smaller. A bangle that is slightly close sits where it should on the arm; one that is loose rides over the wrist bone and onto the hand.

03 · Necklaces & Chains

Necklace lengths

Length decides where a necklace falls, and where it falls decides what it can be worn with. The chart below shows the standard lengths and where each one sits on an average adult neck. Measure from the centre back of the neck, all the way round.

Choosing and layering

  • Measure with a string, not a guessLoop a length of string around the neck, adjust until it hangs where you want the piece to sit, then measure it flat.
  • Account for the pendantA pendant hangs below the chain, so the piece will read a centimetre or two longer than the chain length alone.
  • Layer in stepsNecklaces worn together want 4–5 cm between them. Closer than that and they tangle; further and they read as unrelated.
  • NecklinesA choker suits an open or boat neck; 45–50 cm sits well over a crew neck; the longer lengths are made for a shirt or a fine knit.

04 · Earrings

Earrings

Earrings are not sized: every pair fits every ear. What differs is how each style sits, which is worth knowing before you choose. Exact dimensions for each pair are listed in the specifications on its own product page.

  • StudsSit flat against the lobe and secure with a butterfly back. The Rivet Ear Studs and Rivet Cross Ear Studs are our smallest pieces, worn alone or as the first hole in a stack.
  • HuggiesA small hoop that closes tight to the lobe rather than hanging from it. Our Open Channel, Pavé and Baguette Huggies all use a hinged, clicking closure. They sit close enough to layer with a second earring above.
  • Link earringsAn articulated drop from the lobe, with movement. These read larger than a huggie of the same width and are the more evening-facing of the two.
  • A note on weightSolid gold and platinum are heavier than plated pieces of the same size. Every listing states the weight per pair, so you can judge before you buy.

05 · Pearls

Pearl sizes

Our freshwater pearl necklaces and bracelets are offered in three bead diameters. The size changes the character of the piece more than its fit: the strand length is adjustable either way.

4 mm Delicate and close to the skin. The layering size: quiet enough to wear under a shirt collar, or beneath a chain.
6 mm The middle weight, and the one most people choose. Present on its own, still discreet enough for every day.
8 mm A classic strand with real presence. The size we use for the Caesura pieces, where a single feature bead needs a scale to sit against.

06 · Printable

Printable ring sizer

Printing this page sends this section alone, on a single sheet. Print it at 100% scale, without "fit to page" selected, then cut out the strip below and wrap it around the base of your finger. Read your size where the strip overlaps.

Step one: check your printer

Hold a bank card against the dashed rectangle. If it does not match exactly, your printer has scaled the page. Reprint at 100% before measuring, or the sizer will read wrong.

Step two: cut and wrap

Cut along the strip, wrap it snugly around the base of the finger with the printed side out, and read the number at the overlap. Check it passes the knuckle before deciding.

Numbers are millimetres of circumference: your size. Long marks are even sizes, short marks the odd sizes between them.
